The Points Guy: Heroes in Travel Award

On December 7, 2022 Paulie was honored by The Points Guy, with their Hero in Travel Award.

The award “is given to someone who has made a positive impact on the world of travel, as well as dedicated their life to the industry, and embodies courage, passion and grit.”

Previous winners of the award include ‘Miracle on the Hudson’ pilot Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberger and Beverley Bass, the first female American airline pilot.

The Points Guy covered Paulie’s Push in 2021 and 2022, and many of the website’s readers quickly became enthusiastic followers of the Push to Ground Zero and the the Push to the Pentagon. Paulie was delighted to learn that he’d been chosen to receive #TPGAwards ‘Hero’ honor, and appreciates the fans of, and team at, The Points Guy, and CapitalOne, very much.

In attendance were many members of his family, most of #TeamPaulie, and friends and relatives who traveled to Terminal 5 in NYC to be with him at the awards.

I’m so grateful that I was able to tell the world about these crewmembers and what they were able to accomplish that day. Their extraordinary heroics - we all heard the phone calls that were made by them. I’m just the guy pushing the cart… really, it’s the public, you people sharing my story that reaches these crew members’ families… so that these relatives of the crew members could hear us all say that they were the heroes. I’m honored to be given this ‘Hero’ award, but as we all know, this is for them.
